What the App Does

PrivateNav helps you plan an optimal multi-stop driving route while keeping your personal data private. It uses your addresses to calculate the best driving order — but your identity never leaves your device.

Data Handling

Contact Names & Addresses

• Contact names and addresses you enter or import from your phone’s Contacts stay entirely on your device.
• Names are never sent to any external service.
• Only geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) are sent to Google Maps APIs for route calculation — not street addresses, not names, not any identifying information.

Google Maps API

• The app uses Google Geocoding, Routes, and Elevation APIs to convert addresses to coordinates and calculate driving routes.
• These API calls send only coordinates, not personal identifiers.

Data Storage

• Recipient list: stored locally on your device as a JSON file.
• API key: stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted).
• Settings: stored in local app preferences.
• No data is stored on any server. There is no backend, no analytics, no tracking.

No Data Collection

• No analytics or crash reporting SDKs.
• No advertising.
• No user accounts or authentication.
• No data transmitted to the developer.

Permissions

Contact access is optional. The app works without it.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service used is Google Maps Platform (Geocoding, Routes, Elevation APIs) for route calculation. No other third-party services, SDKs, or trackers are included.

Children’s Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
